This tropical mango smoothie is inspired by my childhood love for Mango Weiss bars. It’s a dreamy combination of coconut, mango and macadamias, with a few special additions to ensure it’s a balanced smoothie (including healthy fats, plant based protein and some anti inflammatory, antioxidant support from the turmeric).
You won’t regret adding this to your summer smoothie repertoire.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup coconut milk (could use coconut water if you prefer a less creamy version)
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 banana
- 2 TBSP coconut (flakes or shredded coconut works fine)
- 1/4 cup macadamia nuts
- 1/8 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 TBSP hemp seeds
- Handful of ice
METHOD:
- Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender, ensuring a smooth consistency.
- Serve cold and enjoy!
- For a fancy (and delicious) addition, top with some passionfruit and/or coconut
ADDITIONS/SWAPS:
- You can swap out coconut milk for coconut water or almond milk if preferred
- Include a serve of collagen or good quality protein powder for increased protein
